Ganze herder injured after elephant attack while grazing goats

A 38-year-old man was seriously injured after an elephant attacked him while he was grazing goats in a ranch in Ganze, Kilifi County. Abdi Sogow Hassan suffered a fractured pelvis and injuries to his right ribs during the attack in Milore Sub-location on Tuesday, according to police. Abdi was taken to Kilifi County Hospital after the incident but was later referred to a hospital in Mombasa for further treatment. Police said he was in a stable condition when he was transferred.

Brave tour guide faces charging elephant to protect tourists

A spectacular encounter between a tour guide and a charging elephant in Tanzania has been captured on video, showing the guide standing his ground as the animal approached a group of tourists. In the footage, the elephant is seen moving towards the guide while blowing its trunk, appearing agitated at the group. Instead of running away, the guide raised his hands and repeatedly waves at the elephant, seemingly signalling it to stop. At one point, he briefly turns around to check on the tourists before facing the elephant again and continuing to wave his hands.
