A 46-year-old man has been tragically killed by an elephant in Masinga, Machakos County.
The authorities said that the incident happened in Kwakyumbo village, located in Kyondoni, Kivaa Location.
The elephant was first spotted early Tuesday morning by local residents, some of whom attempted to chase it away. However, it soon turned on the crowd, resulting in the victim’s immediate death.

An environmental disaster is unfolding in Isiolo county, in northeastern Kenya, following a recent wildfire outbreak that devastated large swaths of the region, according to experts who are calling for urgent measures to address the consequences of the tragedy.
The area hosts thousands of animal and plant species, including critically endangered white rhinos (Ceratotherium simum).
